Uniform
The Cub Scout uniform allows Scouts to be easily identified as members of the program, shows off their accomplishments with badges and awards, and reinforces the ideals of Scouting, like duty to God, country, and helpfulness to others.
Pack 220 is a 'Belt-Up' pack. This means that BSA pants and socks are not required. Blue chino type pants/shorts are alternatives to the official Cub Scout pants/shorts, however, they must have belt loops. Please, no athletic type pants with the uniform. Closed toe shoes are required at all times. Arrow of Light Scouts wear the official Scouting America tan shirt and green shorts/pants with any official Scouting America hat, neckerchief and slide.
Class A uniforms are typically worn during pack meetings or other formal Cub Scout events. Class B consists of any Pack 220 or Scouting America t-shirt along with jeans or shorts and are worn during den meetings or other outings.
Scout Uniforms and supplies can be purchased at the
Occoneechee Scout Shop in North Raleigh or at Scout Shop online.
Pack 220 will never turn away a Scout for a family not being able to afford the proper uniform. Please see your Den Leader if you have any issues in this area and we will assist in outfitting your Scout in the proper uniform.

Cub Scout Handbooks
Cub Scout handbooks serve as essential guides for both scouts and their leaders, providing a structured path for advancement and a framework for learning. They outline the requirements for each rank, offer activity ideas, and foster a sense of accomplishment as scouts progress. The handbooks also encourage family involvement and provide a tangible resource for Scouts to track their achievements.
While many adventures will be completed and earned during den meetings and activities, not all adventures can be completed during the program year meetings. Scouts are encouraged to participate in additional elective adventures with their families at home, which can be found in the handbooks for the different den ranks. Lion and Tiger handbooks come with an Adult Partner Guide as these dens are part of the shared-leadership program.
Handbooks can be purchased at the Occoneechee Scout Shop in North Raleigh or at Scout Shop online.
