Pack 220 Adventures and Activities
Typically held on the first Monday of each month, the pack meeting brings together all scouts from each den, their leaders, and their families to participate in events and activities that showcase everything the scouts have learned and done during their individual den meetings. This is the time where scouts are awarded adventure loops and pins and gives the scouts an experience beyond their own den to help connect their individual activities and accomplishments to the entire Cub Scouting program.
Pack meetings typically last an hour and a half based on the activities planned. Pack 220 likes to invite guest speakers from the community such as Holly Springs Police and Fire, animal rescue, NASA Ambassadors and more!
Pack Meetings

Dens are the groups of Scouts, separated by grade, that meet several times a month between pack meetings. While the meetings include games and other fun activities, Scouts participate in projects and lessons that are related to a specific adventure from the Cub Scout Handbook. This helps them learn the skills they need to progress towards earning their Badge of Rank.
Most den meetings last an hour but can vary based on the activity planned. Pack 220 is a family pack and all parents are invited to participate in the meetings with their Scout. Lion and Tiger dens use a shared-leadership model and parents are required to join meetings for these dens.

Pinewood Derby is one of the most exciting events in Cub Scouting! Scouts design, build, and race their own wooden cars down a gravity-powered track. It’s a fun-filled day of friendly competition, creativity, and hands-on learning, where good sportsmanship and teamwork take the checkered flag.
Pack 220 hosts our Pinewood Derby in January/February, awarding trophies and prizes for speed, design, and creativity. We have several build-days leading up to the event to help Scouts bring their vision to life.

The Blue & Gold Banquet is the highlight of our Scouting year, when we take time to celebrate the anniversary of Scouting. The Blue & Gold Banquet is a big birthday party, with the Scouts, their families and friends all joining together to celebrate with an evening of fun, fellowship and good food.
We also take time to recognize the accomplishments of our Arrow of Light Scouts as they complete their requirements to advance to Scouts BSA. The banquet typically concludes with a bridging ceremony for the Arrow of Light Scouts to cross-over and continue their journey to Eagle Scout with their new troop.

Cub Scouting provides kids a way to escape the great indoors and experience the wonders of nature all around. Pack 220 ventures into the wilderness for camp outs 2-3 times a year, with Spookoree and Cuboree at Camp Durant plus opportunities for additional family camping trips. Camping offers a great opportunity to teach each Scout skills like how to set up their tent, camp fire safety, taking care of nature, and more. No Pack 220 camping trip is complete without sharing songs and spooky stories around the campfire followed by a special treat!
Camp Outs

Pack 220 is always on the move! Outside of our regular den and pack meetings, we are always looking for chances to visit nature for hiking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and more. Scouts learn skills like how to identify plants and animals in nature, the six essentials to bring on any outing, and the leave no trace principles.
All range and target activities are available at official council and district events only and are supervised by a qualified range master. Pack 220 Scouts have the opportunity to develop skills in archery, sling shots, and bb guns while also learning all of the safety skills required to handle these tools safely and appropriately.

Outdoor Adventures

One of the main goals of Cub Scouts is to teach kids to do their best for themselves, their family, and their community and Pack 220 is proud to be a part of the Holly Springs community! We enjoy participating in different community events such as the Happy Holly Days parade, Salamanders Scout night, and visits to Holly Springs Fire and Police Departments. We also participate in community service projects whenever we can with activities ranging from park cleanups to establishing a butterfly garden with our host school, Pine Springs Preparatory Academy.
